  • Alan I. Schimmel graduated from University of California at Los Angeles magna cum laude and from Pepperdine University School of Law. He became a member of the California State Bar in 1981 and the Nevada State Bar in 1984. He is admitted to practice before the United States District Court for the Central District of California, United States District Court for Nevada, Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals and the United States Supreme Court.

    After law school Mr. Schimmel joined a medium size defense firm, where he became a partner. Prior to forming Schimmel & Parks Mr. Schimmel was managing partner of the firm Loewenthal, dissolved in late 2003. He founded Schimmel & Parks, APLC in 2004. He is involved in several areas of law, focusing primarily on construction defect litigation, homeowners association, bad faith insurance claims, employment and personal injury. He has extensive trial experience in construction defect litigation, bad faith insurance claims and personal injury.

    Mr. Schimmel is an AV rated attorney by Martindale-Hubbell legal directory, member of the State Bar of California, the State Bar of Nevada, the Los Angeles County Bar Association, the American Bar Association, and Consumer Attorneys Association of Los Angeles. He has served as a judicial arbitrator in Los Angeles, a mediator/settlement officer with the Los Angeles County Superior Court and as judge pro tem.

    Mr. Schimmel has presented numerous seminars on construction defects, homeowners association and bad faith insurance claims.
