Alan I. Schimmel Authors Article Advising Homeowners of Construction Defects in Long Beach Beachcomber

Managing Partner Alan I. Schimmel authored the article, “Protecting Your Most Valuable Asset,” featured in the Long Beach Beachcomber advising homeowners and potential home buyers of ways to identify, prepare for and manage construction defects. Patent defects can be easily detected by homeowners; however, latent defects create more of a problem. Mr. Schimmel says, “If left undiscovered, latent or hidden defects can seriously compromise the integrity of your home and your investment.”

Mr. Schimmel recommends hiring a licensed contractor to perform a walk-through and provide an unbiased, professional assessment of your home’s structure. It is also critical to consult with a construction defect and insurance lawyer who can educate you on the statutory limitations to file a claim and help you navigate the insurance claims progress.
