Multiple Female Students Sue Usc & Campus Gynecologist For Sexual Abuse

Seven women so far have filed civil lawsuits for student molestation and sexual abuse against the University of Southern California (USC) and its former longtime campus gynecologist, Dr. George Tyndall. According to the complaints of the former students of the university, Dr. Tyndall routinely molested, groped, and assaulted them under the guise of gynecological exams. The complaints also state USC knew of his repeated misbehaviors and harassment, yet did nothing to correct the situation.

The validity of the statements has been solidified recently after many faculty members expressed outrage towards USC following the accusations. The resigning of university President Nikias has been demanded by a faculty group joined by students, former and current.

USC has also released statements that could be interpreted as admissions of guilt. In one official statement, it was claimed that Dr. Tyndall should have been displaced from his role as campus gynecologist due to preexisting complaints about his misbehavior. He was also targeted by internal misconduct reports originating from nearly two decades ago. It was not until a supervising nurse at USC complained to the campus’s own rape crisis hotline in 2016 that Tyndall was suspended.

Internal inquiries from USC also found that Tyndall violated medical standards during gynecological exams. The inquiries went as far to say he essentially sexually harassed patients. To apparently try to cover the situation from the public, USC did not report him to any medical boards and paid him to silently resign.
